BIRDING WATCHING IN CHATHAM

Chatham is one of the hotspots for bird watching with over 2,500 acres of islands, sand dunes, tidal flats, marshes and freshwater ponds that provide the perfect habitat for a large variety of migrating birds as well as year round resident birds. Chatham is home to the famous Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge that is part of the WHSRN (Western Hemishere Shorebird Reserve Network) site, as wll as IBA (Important Bird Area). Chatham Light Beach is a wonderful place for birdwatching, as well as South Beach, Chatham Fish Pier, Hardings Beach, Ridgevale Beach, Scatteree and Cotchipinicut.
